“I tried to drown my sorrows, but the bastards learned how to swim, and now I am overwhelmed by this decent and good feeling.”
― Frida Kahlo
I heard this quote many years ago and it has always resonated with me as alcohol and I have had a love-hate relationship. Many times I have tried to drown my sorrows, revelled in the joy and happiness it brings, and then found my sorrows were worse in the morning. But I live in a culture where socialising = alcohol and so this image is a ‘cheers’ to both the sorrows and the joys I’ve found in a drink.
To create this image I was experimenting with creating fake underwater photography which you can read more about here.
