This piece was inspired by the character of Delirium from Neil Gaiman’s graphic novel series, Sandman. Despite the hardships of existence, Delirium is always able to retreat into her colourful world of fish, bubbles and butterflies. With her childlike wonder she puts a unique spin on even the most mundane situations and reminds us to always appreciate the world with fresh eyes. Delirium is a fascinating character, both visually and psychologically, and it was a delight to portray her in this image.
She made a great subject for this week’s blog post on how to use and create brushes in Photoshop, which you can read here.
